Four cities apply to host 2027 World Archery Championships-AMEYXGS Archery

World Archery received four complete applications from cities for hosting rights to the 2027 World Archery Championships ahead of the bid deadline on 30 September.

The submissions from Antalya (Türkiye), Medellin (Colombia), Nyborg (Denmark) and Wroclaw (Poland) will be evaluated internally and a report prepared for the executive board, which will vote on a host during its next meeting in Türkiye in December.

A fifth application from Saudi Arabia was not accepted as it was incomplete.

The Korean city of Gwangju (Korea) will host the next edition of the World Archery Championships in the summer of 2025. The subsequent 54th edition in 2027 is also expected to act as the primary qualification event for the LA28 Olympic Games.

Hosts are also expected to be appointed for the 2025 and 2027 World Archery Para Championships and the 2027 World Archery Youth Championships during the next executive board meeting.

Beijing (China) has applied to host the para championships in both years and is competing against a bid from Gwangju (Korea) for 2025.

Wroclaw (Poland) and Antalya (Türkiye) have bid for the youth championships in 2027.
